Columbarium dedication to take place at Casowasco’s Open House

Come celebrate the dedication of Casowasco Camp & Retreat Center’s Lakeview Chapel Columbarium at 4 p.m. on June 16, 2013. This peaceful and dignified location is where the cremated remains of loved ones may be laid to rest in a space that is both beautiful and sacred.

Bishop Joseph H. Yeakel of The United Methodist Church will be on hand as the Columbarium is named in his honor. Bishop Yeakel was assigned to the former New York West Area, now part of Upper New York, from 1972 to 1984.

The dedication is part of Casowasco’s Open House/Day at Camp event, which takes place from 2-7 p.m. on June 16th. Families are invited to enjoy a free day of fun; go for a hike or wagon ride, make a craft to take home, visit the Highlands, and join in the singing at the campfire beside the lake.

The waterfront will be open for swimming and boating (weather permitting), and summer staff will be available to give tours and talk with camper families.

Make reservations for the chicken barbecue by calling (315) 364-8756. The reservation deadline is June 14. The cost is $9 for adults, $6 for children ages 4-12; free for children younger than 3.
