Summer 2024

We are working very hard to plan Summer 2025 at Casowasco! Check back in soon to see what’s in store!

Experience Fun, Faith, and Friends at Casowasco this summer!

Casowasco’s summer youth camp sessions include a full range of activities (check those out down below) as well as opportunities to grow in your faith, make new friends, and play games special to the program you choose. No matter the program, summer campers have a well-rounded experience with new friends, games you can only play at camp, kid-focused worship experiences, and the opportunity to grow in their relationship with God and Jesus Christ. Tiered pricing (or “Why are there three prices listed for the same program?”) explained here.

Of particular note for Summer 2024:

  • New programs (and the return of some old favorites)! Welcome to Casowasco Jam: Ukulele and Little Leaves! Welcome back to Casowasco Olympics!
  • Ukuleles! Thanks to generous donations in memory of Captain John Spooner, Casowasco has ukuleles for campers to use and hone their craft.
  • Half Week Program: New to camp? Is a full week away from home a little daunting? Try our Sunday to Wednesday program, Little Leaves!

Teen Leadership Development Program (TLDP)

These programs are selective, growing, and continuing to develop. Our focus is on building up young leaders who will be the world changers of the future. All are designed for high schoolers growing in their faith and wanting to take it to the next level. These programs are about Casowasco fun — you’ll get to participate in You Can’t, make new friends, and enjoy being a camper. They are about developing a servant leader’s heart. They are about living your faith in a way that allows others to clearly identify what you believe and whom you follow. They are about discipleship and the challenge of following Jesus.

LEAD (Leadership Experience Action Discipleship) for Ages 15-17
June 30th– July 12th

Price: $1445/1345/1300

Step one: We are looking for campers we believe will benefit most from the program; campers that will think of others before themselves and are ready to continue their journey of discipleship with Jesus Christ. You will complete an application and references as part of the registration process, plus an interview. At LEAD, your time will include training sessions, bonding as a team, and good ole’ camp fun. You will be provided an opportunity to try out what you have learned under the guiding hands of experienced Casowasco role models. If you are not chosen for the program, any fees already paid on your behalf are fully refundable. Applications for LEAD are due no later than March 31.

LEAD 2024 Application

SALT (Servant And Leadership Training) for Ages 16-18
June 30th– July 12th

Price: $960

Step Two is by invitation only and campers must have completed at least one year of LEAD (or LIT). Campers invited to participate will receive invitations by February 15 along with application requirements.

Parents of/Other adults connected to potential LEAD/SALT candidates: Please note that the experience of completing/submitting the application, requesting/following up with references, and being interviewed is an actual TLDP process we are eager to see your camper complete. We ask that you let your teen do this on their own with minimal prodding and help from you. It will be a tremendous learning experience and will result in their gaining valuable college application and job-related skills. It will help them more in the long run to do it on their own – thank you for letting them do this for themselves.

Note concerning reference forms: Please help the candidate understand that no one (parent or candidate) aside from the person completing the reference should see the completed letter. We ask that reference letters are returned directly to the Casowasco office. You might suggest providing an addressed and stamped envelope for the references to use if they will be completing a hard copy letter. If they would prefer to provide a reference digitally, please ask them to email their recommendation to adamparish@unyumc.org.

Adult and Family Programs

Casowasco also offers programs for families and adults with special needs during the summer. We run programs year-round as well! Head to our Events Tab to see the other offers we have for adults!

Program Excellence

Our program offers children and youth, ages 7-17, a variety of ways to engage in communal outdoor activities which vary in length from a couple of days to a week long.

In addition to all of the “camp favorites” like swimming, arts and crafts, basketball, volleyball, and hiking, we offer tons of unique activities including High Ropes, rocking Chapel, sling shots, and archery!

  • The best part of my week was meeting new people and having fun while learning about God.

    Camper
  • It was a great experience for a young boy who has many responsibilities at home, a time away to just be.

    Camper Family
  • My daughter had an awesome experience! Casowasco was a special place for me when I was her age. Despite all the years and all the improvements, it’s nice to know that the spiritual special-ness has not been lost.

    Camper Family
  • My younger son really struggled, but the staff was amazing and he learned so much about himself. My older son grows every time he goes and loves it!

    Camper Family
  • Casowasco continued to be a second home for my daughter. She is planning her future summers around programs she can attend like LEAD.

    Camper Family
  • The best part of my week at Casowasco was being accepted for who I am.

    Camper

A Solid Foundation

Camp gives children a solid foundation that lasts a lifetime, and equips youth for success at school, at home, at church, and in the world by building them up and giving them the gifts of confidence, faith in God, and a healthy self-esteem. Campers just don’t hear about something, they do it! Everything at camp is hands on, feet on, and heads up. Our programs are fun and campers are cared for by a group of people who are passionate about the effect they can have on a camper’s life.
