Happening Now: Removing Hazardous Trees

We work hard to make Casowasco a safe place for all, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and most importantly physically. We are in need of donations to meet the goal of $5,000 toward the removal of some large and hazardous trees. Please consider a donation to our Mini-Campaign. Click here to donate and select the “Hazardous Tree Removal” option or mail your check to Casowasco Camp and Retreat Center 158 Casowasco Drive, Moravia NY 13118 and make the check out to Camp Casowasco adding “Hazardous Tree Removal” to the memo line.

How are we preparing for summer this week?

We spend all year preparing for summer! This week, Steve went to the Conference Office to meet with the CRM (Camp and Retreat Ministries) Lead Team, comprised of the directors of the other 4 United Methodist Camps in the Upper New York Conference and the Executive Director of CRM, Pam Harris.

Back here at Casowasco, we’re working hard to plan staff training! Did you know that the counselors, lifeguards, and other support staff take two whole weeks before camp starts to learn how to be Casowasco staff? We are looking for people to be counselors (18+), lifeguards (17+ and willing to get certified), and a Waterfront Coordinator (21+). If you or someone you know is looking for the summer job of a lifetime, fill out the Summer Staff Application.

Alumni Homecoming Weekend

May 24-26

Are you an Alumni of Casowasco? Whether you were a camper, a staff member, a retreat guest, or someone who has been touched by the ministry of Casowasco, it is our pleasure to invite you to the Alumni Homecoming Weekend! We will be taking time to reconnect over work projects as we prepare Casowasco for a summer of life transforming ministry and sharing the site with new families during our Family Fun Day on May 25th. We welcome anyone who would like to join us to stay the weekend in a cozy bed, spend time in fellowship over meals in Emmaus Commons, and enjoy a delicious chicken BBQ sponsored by the wonderful people at Marcellus UMC and Casowasco’s Food Service Manager, Laura.
